Speed Queen has been part of American culture since 1908, when founders Barlow and Seeling introduced early laundry product developments, including an electric motor–powered washer and a swinging wringer designed to operate in different directions. By 1938, the company had introduced the use of stainless steel in parts of its equipment—materials that continue to be used in many Speed Queen machines today.
More than a century later, Speed Queen designs and manufactures commercial laundry equipment for self-service and on-premise laundry applications. In 2016, the brand introduced its self-service laundromat concept in selected markets.
Speed Queen washers and dryers are designed for commercial use, with construction and service features intended to support long-term operation and help reduce downtime. Actual maintenance needs, operating costs, and results will vary by location, usage, and service plan.
